Why attempt a sprint triathlon at age 63? It’s the cross-training that keeps you physically fit and mentally alert. Being in the wellness industry, I want to walk the talk. Research has proven that strenuous exercise is a combatant to early Alzheimer’s disease.
The Central Park Tri. is a three-part race that takes place in Central Park. It begins with a quarter-mile swim in Lasker Pool; next, racers transition to their bikes for two loops around the park – 12.4 miles; then, racers finish with a 5K (3.1 miles) run. I finished 4th in my division this year: males 60-64. Put it on your bucket list or join me next year and give Alzheimer’s a “rain check.”
