Governors Island Spa

In a recent interview with Sam Liebowitz of The Talking Alternative, Bob Henry spoke about their Governors Island Spa project with QC Terme – Milan.

QC Terme is bringing a European grand spa experience to America, albeit we are tailoring it to the American audience. Governors Island will offer both co-ed hydrotherapy experiences within indoor & outdoor pools, as well as more private gender-specific treatments. Spa experiences will include all types of body and facial treatments, eucalyptus steam rooms, hammams, aromatic saunas, Kneipp-thermal walks, assorted hydro-massage pools, and a number of unique relaxation rooms.

The Governors Island Spa project is meant to be inclusive versus exclusive which goes along with the current mayor’s social agenda, as it relates to Governors Island being a recreational experience for all of New York.

In Henry’s opinion, QC NY will be an inclusive and affordable day resort, providing guests with the ultimate wellbeing experience coupled with endearing Italian hospitality.

“I was inspired to re-purpose the three landmarked buildings into a ‘wellness campus’ and integrate QC Terme’s unique hydrotherapy pools within its landscape to deliver a therapeutic aqua-journey with delicious views back to Manhattan,”

“Just imagine relaxing in a heated outdoor hydro-pool in the middle of winter while it’s snowing, with an other-worldly view of the lower Manhattan skyline!”

The Resort is designed as an enchanting oasis. It is complete with lush grounds, outdoor thermal pools with striking views of Manhattan, Brooklyn, and New Jersey. There are also themed saunas and relaxation rooms – each with its own personality, scent, and music.

Francesco Varni, QC Group CEO continues “We’re thrilled to see the New York vision come to light since we signed our lease four years ago on Governors Island.

“We’re delighted to bring the quality and integrity of our spas to North America and we have plans to expand the QC experience not only in North America but worldwide.”
